I love Stephen King’s writings though I read one of his novels, Dreamcatcher, his brilliant mind still captivates millions. His horror novels were embraced widely here in the United States.
1408 Movie is based on Stephen King’s 1408, not a novel, but a short story from his collection Everything’s Eventual: 14 Dark Tales. The short story is about a writer who lives exposing the paranormal and linking stories. This writer lose a brother but in the coming movie, he losses his daughter. There are some tweaking of the original script to make it more interesting.
The manager of the Dolphin Hotel, Mr. Olin, is a Jewish as it was written in the short story but in the movie it is a black man played by Samuel L. Jackson. As we all know that Jackson’s performances on movies are fantastic.
John Cusack is the main character of the movie who will play Mike Enslin. In the short story Enslin character ended up not in good way. It implies also that Enlin spent his time in room 1408.
The movie’s about a writer grieving the loss of his daughter who was once a believer in the paranormal but is became a skeptic. He stays in a hotel room (1408) where bizarre and unexplaiene incidents regularly happen.
The atmosphere of expectation will be in the hearts of movie goers as this movie’s advertisement intensifies.
The 1408 Movie will be shown in your favorite theaters July 13th. For sure there will be long lines entering the cinema.
I can’t wait to see John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson!
